Who can become a Trainee Associate member?
- Those who hold an appraiser trainee license or equivalent from a governmental regulatory agency
- Those working towards attaining a trainee license or equivalent can also qualify for this membership category, but must attain an appraiser trainee license or equivalent from a governmental regulatory agency within two years of admission to Trainee Associate membership
What are the requirements for Trainee Associate membership?
- Within each cycle, you must meet both components of the Standards and Ethics requirement:
- Pass the 15-Hour National Uniform Standards of Professional Practice (USPAP) course within the first year of membership or within the 4 years prior to membership
- Pass the Appraisal Institute's Business Practices and Ethics course, available online and in the classroom
- Within each 5-year Appraisal Institute continuing education cycle, you must complete seventy (70) hours of continuing education, which must include:
- The Standards and Ethics education as listed above
- The Appraisal Curriculum Overview requirement

What are the Trainee Associate membership dues?
- Dues are $110 per year, but are prorated for members joining between January 1 and October 31. Members joining after October 31 are charged full dues for the upcoming year.
